Fume Hood

Description

High quality fume cupboards and safety cabinets for a wide range of clients, from schools and small laboratories to entire university departments and industrial R&D facilities.

Fume Cupboards for Schools and Colleges:

The Airone 1000RS mobile ductless fume cupboard is a brilliantly effective teaching resource which is space efficient and cost effective.  Once connected to the Safelab Docking Station, it can be positioned as required for demonstrations, and then stored in the classroom or elsewhere when not in use.  It can be shared between several classrooms, and there is no requirement for ducting or costly associated building works.

The design of the fume cupboard ensures an exceptionally clear view of the experiment from all sides. The Airone 1000RS fume cupboard is economical to run since the high capacity 22Kg carbon filter typically only needs replacing every 4 to 5 years. Fan speed automatically decreases at low sash heights, which minimises energy consumption and helps maximise filter lifetime.

The Airone X is a fixed, ducted fume cupboard with laminated glass side panels, equally suitable for prep room use and chemistry practical work to A level and beyond. Four standard widths up to 1800mm are available;  often a 1000mm fume cupboard is specified for students' use in the classroom, whilst a 1200mm wide unit is preferred for the prep room.  Laboratory technicians appreciate the excellent build quality of the Airone X for daily use, and the large working area afforded by the 1200mm wide unit with its built-in sink.

The Airone X fume cupboard connects to PVC ducting in which a fan is installed to carry airborne contaminants safely away to an external discharge point.  We provide a full turn-key solution, installing an energy efficient fan and duct system if required.

The rate of air flow into the fume cupboard needed to ensure safe operation in schools is set by our engineer during commissioning.  An integrated air by-pass system ensures this inward air flow remains constant as the laminated glass sash is raised or lowered, and the unit incorporates a low air flow alarm for complete safety.

The Airone R is a fixed, ductless (recirculating) fume cupboard with laminated glass side panels, equally suitable for prep room use and chemistry practical work to A level.  Four standard widths up to 1800mm are available;  often a 1000mm fume cupboard is specified for students' use in the classroom, whilst a 1200mm wide unit is preferred for the prep room.  Laboratory technicians appreciate the excellent build quality of the Airone R for daily use, and the large working area afforded by the 1200mm wide unit with its built-in sink.

The rate of air flow into the fume cupboard needed to ensure safe operation in schools is set by our engineer during commissioning.  An integrated variable air volume (VAV) system ensures this inward air flow remains constant by adjusting the fan speed as the laminated glass sash is raised or lowered.  Lowering the sash reduces energy consumption and extends filter lifetime. The unit incorporates a low air flow alarm for complete safety.

The Airone R fume cupboard uses high capacity activated carbon filters to remove airborne contaminants without the need for ducting or potentially costly building works.  Unlike a ducted fume cupboard, it does not require make up air to be introduced to the room to operate safely, and does not expel heated indoor air to the outside.

The Airone 1000DS is the ideal ducted schools fume cupboard for classroom demonstrations.  Laminated glass panels to the sides and back provide the all-round visibility of the experiment needed for effective teaching, while flexible duct and lockable castors enable it be manoeuvred into place and unobtrusively stored.

The flexible duct connects to PVC ducting in which a fan is installed to carry airborne contaminants safely away to an external discharge point.  We provide a full turn-key solution, installing an energy efficient fan and duct system if required.

The rate of air inflow into the fume cupboard needed for safe operation in schools is set by our engineer during commissioning. An integrated air by-pass system ensures this inward air flow remains constant as the laminated glass sash is raised or lowered, and the unit incorporates a low air flow alarm for complete safety. Connection of services is simple via the Safelab Docking Station.

If there is no requirement to move the fume cupboard from its demonstration position, we can supply and install the Airone 1000DS with feet and rigid PVC duct.

The Airone 1000DS introduces 360o visibility - which has made our mobile filtered fume cupboards so popular for class demonstrations - to our range of ducted fume cupboards. It is the ideal solution for schools that wish to avoid having to replace activated carbon filters.

Fume Cupboards for Industry and Higher Education:

The  Airone XP4 is a high specification double walled fume cupboard; services are located on the internal walls, leaving the entire working area available for use.

Build quality is of the highest standard, with extruded aluminium aerofoils, a stainless steel sill and a counter-weighted smooth action laminated glass sash.

It is available with either a VAV (Variable Air Volume) or air bypass system

The VAV model automatically minimises the amount of indoor (conditioned) air being pulled through the fume cupboard and expelled outside as the sash is raised and lowered, whilst maintaining full operator protection. The reduction in heating or air conditioning required by the building yields substantial energy savings.

In the air bypass model a constant volume of air is pulled through the Airone XP4 under all operating conditions.

A special low flow configuration of the Airone XP4 maintains operator protection at reduced face velocities down to 0.3m/s, helping to fulfil the low energy requirements of BREEAM accredited new buildings.

The Airone XP4 fume cupboard is available in a choice of sizes and can be bench mounted, free standing or supplied as a walk-in unit.  An extensive list of options allows services and materials to be tailored to each customer’s individual needs.

Airone X is a high specification single walled ducted fume cupboard with laminated glass sides providing a clear view of the workspace.

Build quality is of the highest standard, with extruded aluminium aerofoils, a stainless steel sill and a counter-weighted smooth action laminated glass sash.

The fume cupboard incorporates an air bypass system, which ensures full operator protection by maintaining a constant, safe inflow of air at all working sash heights.

The Airone X fume cupboard is available in a choice of sizes and can be bench mounted, free standing or supplied as a walk-in unit.  An extensive list of options allows services and materials to be tailored to each customer’s individual needs.

Airone R is a high specification ducted (recirculating) fume cupboard with laminated glass sides, incorporating replaceable activated carbon and/or HEPA filters to suit your application.

An integrated variable air volume (VAV) system ensures the required inward air flow for operator protection remains constant at all working sash heights. The fume cupboard incorporates a low air flow alarm for complete safety.

Since there is no requirement for ducting or make up air systems, installation of the  Airone R fume cupboard is more straightforward and less costly than a ducted unit.  The Airone R is also exceptionally energy efficient, since it does not expel heated indoor air to the outside.

The FC750 is a compact ductless (recirculating) fume cupboard with laminated glass sides and a hinged clear acrylic front, incorporating a replaceable activated carbon filter and/or HEPA filter to suit your application.

It can be used on the bench top, supplied with legs, or trolley mounted for portability.

The FC750 ductless (recirculating) fume cupboard incorporates a simple to use control system, including a fan failure alarm.  The hinged acrylic front panel is lowered when the FC750 fume cupboard is in use, and can be raised to allow full access for setting up your work.
